Shark Survival

This is way too freaky not to put on here …

The tiger shark produces an embryo every day but once one of them is large enough, it will start to EAT its brothers and sisters in the womb! When they are the only one left, the mother stops making more embryos and the remaining baby feasts on the leftover bodies and yolks from unfertilised eggs until it is big enough to be born.

Check out the shark embryo’s tiny teeth and monster mouth – but don’t blame me if you have nightmares!
